Mhdt USBridge kaput

My 2011 Mhdt usb->spdif converter seems to be dead!

Not recognized by my macbook's usb, and no output from either optical or digital coax.
Tried on two different macs, with two different usb cables, but no luck.

I would be happy to take it any one in Chennai who want look into its innards, and try something out...

Well, well, well...

Apparently not kaput!!

Shows/powers up on Windows 8 laptop, but not on mac os x 10.6.8 (where it worked before), and mac os x10.10.1 (first attempt)..

For macs, the device comes with cmedia supplied usb drivers that are installed on both macs.

Trying to figure what's changed..

Back to working condition!

Uninstalled and reinstalled the cmedia drivers, and changed the cable with a tight(er) fit on the usb side.

Took a few seconds for the unit led to glow to indicate all normal.
