mic preamps with software riaa

for vinyl ripping instead of phono preamps route i tried korg mr2 mic pramps for ripping through mc catridge. it appears better than phono preamp route.i am going to try with grace design mic preamps . any body tried in this way. in fact pure vinyl is suggesting this way.

I know someone using Sony voice recorder for vinyl ripping. Though I follow pre amp+ power amp way to sound card for vinyl rips.
