Mostly about high priced gear

the magic diamonds differ from the magic stones primarily with respect to activation. Here we use techniques based on quantum physics that operate at a higher intensity than do the magic stones.

I heard the pass labs Xa60.5 extensively a couple of months back as an option to ugrade from my symphonic line rg7. They are very good. Though my opinion at that time was that they would be a sideways move at best from my symphonic line, not really an upgrade per se.
Cheers,
Sid

The Harmonisers seem to work on the principle of absorbing the air borne emi and rf. If thats what they do, they will work and depending on where they are placed the wall boundaries may disappear. Would also like to add most of these tweaks work only after power and mechanical resonances are taken care of.

Funny, the recording studio's (who are more finicky about pureness of signal and reduction of noise) don't employ the services of such quantum beasts!

Stein Harmonisers are positively reviewed by respected audio print magazines including Stereophile, as well as e-zines.

Our inability to explain how they work, and the reticence of the vendor to explain, should not automatically place such devices in the snake skin oil category. Nor the non-availability of conventional measurements to show their effects in numbers and graphs. Not all things audio are measurable or quantifiable.

If one has heard it and did not find any positive effect, then one is very much entitled to speak out.

just wondering .. can you please let us know which hi end studios you have visited to be so sure of how they work?

I am talking about studios like 2L, Decca, Abbey Road, Stockfisch etc

Hi alpha 1

They do work in studio environment also. I have tried the acoustic system resonators. More then anything else these devices improve harmonics.

Studios like to damp the sound. They have a lot of acoustic treatment in their studio for absorption and diffusion. These harmonisers and similar devices seem to work in an undamped room. Thats been my experience. In the past i have had 6 Real Traps in my room. These devices IME do not work in that setting.

+1 to ^ post.

I have heard for myself the difference that a similar product - Acoustic Revive RR-77 brings. When switched off, the soundstage just collapsed. This even has a science to back it, but its relation to audio is something that I could not comprehend. Nevertheless, it is not snake oil....not if you have heard it for yourself.

Agreed Santhosh. The RR 77 works big time. Again it nullifies air borne rf and emi. The only reason i did not purchase it is because i read some contradictory opinions about it having some medical side effects. In fact any Schumann resonator will work. You can buy one for less than $150. Do not need to spend $400 on a Acoustic Revive one

This is entirely new to me, so no, perhaps I should not dismiss it out of hand. But still, I'm keeping a "healthy" does of scepticism here. Where does the science end and the pseudo science begin? This wiki article has a very different tone from this page. Is it all for real?

If it is for real, is it something that simply makes us feel better, which is going to enhance any experience, including that of listening to sound? Some people swear by ionisers: perhaps one would improve their hifi. Some people swear by a fine single-malt whiskey: they will almost certainly claim an improvement in the listening experience, but it should take far more than just one before they would claim that it affects the sound itself.

A long time ago, a friend of mine bought a plug in box that was supposed to remove negative vibrations from the mains electricity. She found it very helpful to her health. I was interested in unusual and alternative stuff too --- but, unlike her, I'd read the article where someone removed all the black stuff that some electronics are embedded in and found ...wires connecting a switch and an LED. I can believe in all sorts of stuff, and I don't even need the sanction of a scientist, but the fact is that a lot of that stuff, especially when it comes in the form of gadgetry, is not at all what it claims. Radionics, anyone?

Since, you seem to have access to these studios, I cannot bluff.
I don't have access to them.

But what I know about is studios in India, that are routinely used by Rock/Jazz bands, and also sometimes for ads/jingles ...

Do you know why I raised the snake oil alert?
"Here we use techniques based on quantum physics that operate at a higher intensity than do the magic stones"
Does this person even know what is quantum mechanics, what are its effects, which realm it operates?
