I don't understand why you should have multiple ids. Unfortunately, there are a 100 ways of breaking whatever detection we set up. The few we have caught is more by writing style, language, etc.

IP adress can be used to identify. I have personally checked that I can have multiple identity membership and post in the forum with various names which I guess can be used to push a product, manipulate reviews, answer ones own questions, make allegiance for my personal views etc.

Out of respect to everyone it would not be just and honest on my part if I dont have any facts other than I guess writing style and language used as Venkat has mentioned. Any particular information is not important clean functioning of the forum is the aim. In my opinion making a request to mods was the only way.

People use multiple ids on forums for a variety of reasons, including innocent ones like forgetting passwords and just wanting a change.

IP address is a very blunt tool, and, as most of us have dynamic addresses from our IPs, not at all reliable without other evidence such as Venkat mentions. It is useful when "two" or more members actually strike up a "conversation," for the purpose of commercial advertisement or even just trolling.

I observed multiple ID case in on For-Sale thread. May be it is wrong. People use there to praise for the product and say it is good offer and you will not get such offer anywhere.

Well, I cannot name anybody. May be my observation is wrong. You can go through latest some 5-7 sale threads and read the comments.
