My first ever bluray movie disk

So I've officially started my bluray disk journey!


This is bought from Flipkart - Seller is 'RA Cosmos', they are selling Eagle home entertainment's disks. Since this was only around ₹300 I ordered it first and then went online to look up on any previous reviews. Most of the reviews were bad for the above mentioned seller's transfer. I was praying like anything to get a good disk. The disk arrived and when I openend it, the packaging was sketchy, I was very much worried about the quality of the movie. I opened the case and the disk was new without any scratches/marks. Immediately hooked up my PS4 and played the movie. And thank god. the quality was wonderful. The video quality was top notch and man the audio was really really greaaaat!!!!! Not like anything I've seen before! I ended up watching the whole movie at noon and it was a fantastic experience.

I decided to collect more movies that I love but man, could the timing be anymore worse? Because the pricing of bluray titles are crazy!!!! Only Amazon sells some genuine blurays(at an inflated price) and the only other option we have is to import them from UK via Amazon or Ebay. I wish the bluray market revives once again because the experience is so very nice! One with a nice home theatre setup should never miss this!

Better not to get into habit of buying bluray..Selected titles shall be bought only for collection, that also will become waste since all the movies will be released later in 8k / 12K as the tech grows and this will fetch O. OTT is there currently support to cool down current movie watching spree.

I doubt whether 8K or 12K or above will release at all. Hardware limitations, price, OTT craze etc. is killing the physical disc industry anyways. I also collect movies which I think I will rewatch. So I think 4K movies discs would be the last physical release. To give an.example I still watch Matrix 1999 on DVD on my Bluray player even in 2025 !

this is fake bluray. Original will always have blue plastic box. In india everything works piracy all that. I always buy 4k from amazon international with customs duty it costs 4500 approx per disk but worth it.

A bit expensive average cost is between 600 to 1200 a movie. Old ones at about 400-500. 4K more expensive. Still want to go ahead ? I will ask him and then share his contact.

this is fake bluray. Original will always have blue plastic box. In india everything works piracy all that. I always buy 4k from amazon international with customs duty it costs 4500 approx per disk but worth it.

This is not fake but my assumption is that this is manufactured by Indian media companies, this disc came from 'Eagle home entertainment', which has many poor reviews. There's another one named, Excel home entertainment, which has good reviews.
I guess Amazon offers a hassle free experience for all the money they charge. There's also another way which is buying from UK Ebay.

Buying Bluray is a niche hobby. This is only for people who appreciates watching content and nit pick all the details in the video & audio. It will take decades for OTT to match the quality that a Bluray provides.

No, its difficult to get discs at a reasonable price here in India. If you're okay with importing, then try to get discs from UK Ebay.

hollywood 4ks have bitrate of upto 50 60 mbps while indian blurays have average 15 mbps. I have one 4k disk pitch black dolby vision 4k it goes till 80mbps bitrate which is insane. OTT will never match these if they do their server will crash

The units comes with one 4k disc one bkuray version and digital code aldo. So 2 discs in one unit.

Can we get an idea the size of the disc size/rather than bitrate (not sure how they are connected). Remux 4k discs are about 60-90 GB in size. So if I am playing a remux off my local storage is it as good as the physical disc?

Remuxes are exactly same as the physical disc quality wise. Depends on which source you get them from.

So, Remuxes are multiple video parts (If you have copied an old DVD before you might remember that there were multiple video files like Video001, Video002, etc.) picked straight from the Bluray DVD and stitched together into one single video file without tampering any particulars of the video.

Hybrid remuxes have the Dolby Vison layer extracted from the streaming services and integrated into the video file.

There is one person in bangalore who imports and sells 4k dvd region restricted region free original bluray discs. Usa copies.If any one interested ping me. I bought 4k cliffhanger and gladiator discs from him.
The units comes with one 4k disc one bkuray version and digital code aldo. So 2 discs in one unit.
