Hi Guys,

At last my Home Theater setup is complete.
Denon 891(2311) with Tannoy Mercury V series. I basically use this setup for 80% movies and 20% music. I really like Tannoy Speakers. They are not harsh on ears. I'm not audiophile but out of those I have tested, Tannoy are best suited for my ears. I got Velodyne Impact 12 which takes care of bass in Movies.
So very happy with this setup till now. Speakers are new and needs time to break in. Now I need to buy more bluray movies to test this setup :-).

Thanks all for Guiding and Supporting me.

Sajjad.

Nice, clean setup bro....when i heard a pair of Mercury bookshelves(V1 i think) at a friend's some time back, it was little bit treble happy but not that much, which made it very suitable for movie watching.Am sure u are enjoying the setup to the most bro... :)

btw, how hard do u run the speakers? do they become harsh at high volumes?

Congrats.Does V series goes well with Denon? My f1 didnt match as higher freq were rolled off.(warm + warm combo)

Very nice setup. Congratulations.

I like the AV rack specially.. Where did you get that from and how much you paid for it ?

Thanks Guys, Till now didn't test them at High volumes. I live in a apartment so difficult to do that. At -20 db the room is shaking, So never gone beyond that (Room is not that big). Till now this the best speaker set with Denon ( I auditioned Polk, Yamaha, bought MS Carnival 8 and sold them) but I am not much of Audiophile. Didn't audition Wharfedale coz heard that they are more musical. These are not Treble happy that I can tell you.

Always good to see pics of the setups. NIcely done and congrats!
Thought of adding spikes to your floor standers for better bass?

Congrats!! Did you buy it from HTStore (they deal with Tannoys and Velos - thats why asked). Recently I went for QAs - HTStore suggested me the Tannoys...couldnt audition though...Please post a word or two about the speakers...Nice setup. How much did you pay?

Thanks guys, @Deepakgang Floor Standers has the spikes. Shud I remove the Carpets, if FS have spikes?
@sriramgiyer, yes the speakers are bought from HTStore.
The Speaker package cost 50k (sub extra). Tannoy are the best I have heard so far (but didn't hear many, so not an expert). In Hyderabad, we don't get much to Audition.

Tannoy is very detailed and most imp is its not Harsh. Suited my ears.

Hey, I am unable to see the setup pics that everybody is praising here !!

I would like to see it as even i have bought a pair of V4's recently and looking for a good av rack to compliment it.

Hi Seikometric,

A lot had happened after I bought Tannoy speakers, this is almost 8 months old setup. I have sold these speakers and bought B&W's.

Thanks

Sajjad,

How is your rotel doing? From where and what price you picked up ? What pre are you using with it?

Congrats on the B&W.

Thanks Kittu & Flash. I'm still looking for pre. Right now I'm low on budget, Rotel pre with DTS-HD decoding is costing around 75k (seconds). So I should have to wait for 2 months or so.
For Stereo, I bought Rotel RA-980BX recently from a friend. I have Yamaha RX-V1800 AVR that I use for movies. I have to check connecting the preouts of Yamaha AVR to Rotel 985. Will let you know the results, once I do that this week end. Once I get the processor, I will sell the yamaha AVR.

The RA-980 is a integrated right - do you have the RB 985 connected to the preouts of the Integrated ? I guess it would be since by itself I am not too sure if the RA-980 can do justice to the 603's

Yes try the Yamaha with the Rotel. It should be interesting. However going by my experience with Rotels. the sound signature will be Yamaha. So I guess you would need a Rotel Processor if you want the Rotel sound signature

The Yamaha V1800 would be up for grabs soon eh .... Keep me in mind when you do plan on popping them off .:ohyeah:

A beautiful, well-constructed speaker with class-leading soundstage, imaging and bass that is fast, deep, and precise.
