NAD 304 or NAD 1136pre with 2240pe power?which one is better?

hi everyone,
I am planning to buy a nad amp for my bookshelves...the problem is i have two options NAD 304 & NAD 1136pre with 2240pe power amp....i am confused as to which one to buy as the specs of both these amps are almost the same....(both rated at 40 watt pc)...i am generally a TT and cassete deck fan...so which one would you people suggest?
btw i havent taken an audio test of the both as yet

your best bet would be to audition. specs give you a base to start at but auditioning will give you the true answer.

generally speaking separates are always better than integrated. but its also to do with your weakest link. you'll be able to hear the diff only on a really high end system. i;ve got the rs6 monitor audios and i couldnt tell the diff when i played the nad c272 vis a vis the nad c372.

for best bet is to ignore the issue of separates and integrates, and buy the one that sounds better. if both sound the same to you then buy the one which will have better resale value

not necessary, a well designed and engineered integrated can take on a pre power combo
