Nat Geo HD Added in Airtel

Iam not sure if this is the correct thread.. Just selected the first thread which has 'Airtel' in it..


I see a boost in PQ in Airtel (normal SD) DTH this week in my TV. Was considering it as placebo, but today I sat down to confirm and still the PQ seems much better.

I see this for the past three days.. The images seem (much) less compressed for most tamil reagional channels and a lot of other channels as well.

Is anyone seeing an improvement? Or is it due to some realignment of my dish due to wind etc?

Totally agree with you. I find some channels have extra brightness in picture and more treble (some hissing) noise in HD pack which did not see in standard cable.

MTV for eg (toomuch hissing noise)

The best channel to me after upgrading is Animal Planet and Some of the sun channels with good voice clarity.

yes the mtv sound has to much treble... also the text appears in bottom like in the news channels also appears to judder some time, is it happening with everyone or it is just with me..??

I too noticed a distinct improvement in PQ, but I attributed it to being away from my TV for the Diwali week.The signal strength etc. is still showing the same as previously though.

TataSky is the only DTH service that continues to show NGC HD with the obnoxious chinese subtitles and also with mono sound encoded in DD 5.1 audio.

See, despite all those complaints about TATA SKY; that they are trying to pass off upscaled channels as HD, etc. maybe true but at least they are trying. But Airtel seems to be content with providing just one HD channel.....

P.S.: How do I get them to stop making those automated calls and SMS reminding me to recharge?

TS has only one upscaled channel STAR Plus HD apart from Discovery HD, Neo Cricket HD (Ranji Trophy in True HD), Showcase HD PPV and NGC HD.

Please do not take multiroom connection from Airtel , Singal strength drops to 38-40% and picture quality sucks... More over topups are seperate for each box ... Overall Airtel sucks...

Any chance that Airtel will show the world cup in HD? I guess ESPN is covering the world cup and they might probably go in for a HD broadcast. I'd be gutted if they do not show it

Can't they atleast show some upscaled channels like all the other service providers if not full HD channels? I see that tata sky has also got neo cricket in HD. Seriously, Airtel has to learn a lesson here.

i have a multi room airtel (sd) and i am so sick and tired
i have had this connection for over 3 years now and each time i shifted i had a harrowing time. trust me i had complained from top to bottom.
mumbai guys i can give you the no of the regional manager in case of issues

the overall picture is not of MPEG 4 quality which they claim. there are continuous drops in PQ. how i wish i can change the whole system to a better service provider. already damn put so much money on a wasted product

guys DONT buy airtel. also another major issue that comes across is that the new channels come last on airtel. after it comes to all other networks. very irritating
