Friends, I'm no audiophile..I mostly play songs from my smartphone and laptop and don't know about receivers or for that matter sound cards and so on....I wanted a decent all in one system with least wire entanglements and had decided to buy sony mhc-ecl7d before I visited hifivision..The realization thereafter has been very enthusing..I want suggestions regarding my future purchase of a good music system. I don't care if it's a 2.1 or 5.1, a bookshelf or a satellite, whatever, I don't know about them.. My requirements are clear sound with deep bass and loudness..As I've said, the source will be mostly my Android smartphone and occasionally laptop.. I sifted through the contents of this site and have been impressed by swan m50w, and. Polk rti a1..I don't want to buy a receiver unless it makes significant difference.. My budget is 15 k and can stretch upto 20 k..The must required feature is thumping bass and clear sound.. Thanks very much in advance..

Hi

If you have a fixed budget, you should then invest in a small stereo integrated amplifier and buy bookshelf speakers for starters. You can check out Hifi Ads for Bookshelf speakers where owners have hardly used or still have warranty. Check it out.

Amplifiers are available over Hifi Mart or Amazon ...select the ones which appeal to your budget.

Hi ankit..,
As per ur requirement of thumping bass..and budget of 20k...u should go for sony's latest system..with lot of bass drivers..and ur kind of music...
I must say..this forum is full of people who have less room for your kind of music(basshead).
Sorry for being ditect...but at the end u will be dissapointed....
Jargon of this forum is..detail,soundstage,lows mids highs, cables, dacs, amps, speakers, room size, room treatment, vintage, turntable and ultimayely and last but not the least..EARS..
So..enjoy..if you got the essence..
Cheers
Dheeraj

Believe me sir, if the system you recommend is as good as you say it is, I wont mind bass a bit..After all, who doesn't want to listen to good "music"..Btw, what do you think of swans m50w?

If u are playing thru PC or Laptop..swans is a good choice...but if you want more detail and good thumping with non fatigue listening ..go with Sony,Philips..etc

Thanks again for the support.. I think I'll buy swans.. They are definitely worth a try even for "bassheads" like me :-) considering their outstanding reviews.. I think they won't disappoint me.. God bless..

There are some systems..which u can listen to non stop upto 4-5 hours...and some with inherent noise and brightness can give u fatigue within half an hour..since u are playing thru Pc and soundcard is not good enough with noise..u will have the same Half an hour effect.even if you have speakers of 5 lakhs.but if u play thru properly designed syste....then you would get more details..which were absent while playing thru normal soundcard...

Try something like the Audioengine speakers. These are powered speakers that will give much better quality than the popular 'commercial' brands like sony, pioneer, onkyo etc.

You can check out their A2+ and A5+ powered speakers. They also have passive speakers (called P4).

I have heard the previous iteration of the A2+ and A5+ (called A2 & A5), and they sounded very good for the money.

Best,
