Hi
I recently purchased a 46" Samsung HD TV. I use it for watching TV on my Tatasky HD and also movies through a media player.

I need your help in deciding which speaker system to buy.
I basically need to hear the dialogues more clearly.

Will the Creative T20 (which is a 2.0 system) be sufficient for hearing the English movie dialogues clearly? Or should I go in for the Creative T3 (2.1 system)?

Although my budget is ~15k, if a 2.0 system can solve my problem of clarity of speech, then I dont want to add to clutter and go for a 2.1

I will be grateful, if you can recommend a better system for my need.

I am also tempted to buy the BOSTON ACOUSTICS SOUNDWARE XS 2.1

Would you rate it above the creative T3?

Where can i buy it in Hyderabad?

A 2.0 PC/Multimedia speaker is no match for a full fledged stereo system (2.0) ...

If you don't want to spend more than say 20K Max, you can also look @ Audio Engine A2 powered speakers for 14K..

If you can stretch your budget by an other 5K Max, you can buy a decent bookshelf speaker for 10K (Sonodyne Sonus 1501 /Cambridge S30 ) + any used stereo amplifier for 10K (or) Used Non HDMI receiver for 10K....

If you have a constraint on budget, but wish to build a good 5.1 speaker system in the near future, I would suggest you look @ used Non HDMI receiver for 10K...

my suggestion ,

if you have friends in U.S and your priority is only voices, go with logitech s715 ipod speaker for rs.4000 or below.. i dont recommend this speakers to buy in india... and not booming effects.. but very very clear vocals for t.v. best for the room size upto12*16. you can also dock the ipod with this speaker and it is battery operated and very handfully size and no need for stands or any big space..

i listend audio engine a2 as TV speakers , but it`s little downside and muddy in vocals.. and also very expensive around 13k in india

otherwise you need a big sound , go with seperate budget speaker and seperate budget amp for that price for bigger sounds..

i recommend cambridge s30 (rs,10000) for the speakers... for the stereo amp. any budget amp like astonia or norge or any other cheaper second hand amp..

personelly i dont like subwoofer and cube speaker combo for watching t.v. and clear vocals..

I think a soundbar is more suited for TVs. They are mostly tuned to improve vocals. But good soundbars are expensive. There is one Boston Acoustics bar priced around 15K.

Yes.. I thought of that, but there is no space between the counter top and the bottom of the tv.
If I put any sound bar, it will come on front of the screen a bit

I would have suggested the new speaker from Bose which can be placed beneath the TV, I don't know whether you can stretch your budget. I had heard it Croma and the sound is absolutely crystal clear and room filling.

get a good soundbar..........if budget can be increased to 25k you can look at Onkyo HT-S3500.

Actually trying to convince the wife for the clutter... And go for CA s30 with an amp.... (which simple amp to go for?)

Or simply otherwise go in for boston acoustic 2.1... Because it has Bluetooth

For TVs I feel a 2.1 is more than enough. What are you trying to get from a 5.1 channel sound bar? Getting proper 5.1 sound effect is very tricky from a soundbar. Also remember TV audio is 2 channel only and so what you will get is pseudo surround only.
