Hi guys,

I use the chord mojo -> luxman amp-> guru junior speakers.

I really love what the above setup offers in terms on audio quality. But I really feel that still the sound can be full bodied. I think its the signature of the speaker that lacks body in upper frequency. Can you guys help me to rectify this issue. Im okay to change the dac but i want to stick to the same speakers as it does lot of things right.

What do you consider upper frequency?

Body weight and density would usually reside in the bass and mids. Upper frequency must be light and airy.

Can you better define body in upper frequency,
This is how I see and hear it:
Normally you will associate body to male vocals in the lower midrange region (100hz to 500 hz), too much body will make the vocals muddy....
then you have 500hz to around 4khz region where most music reigns and the ears are most sensitive among all age groups...here you you can feel some body, which is more of an impact than body, beyond this, the upward frequencies will have good weight to the instruments like cymbals.

One classical number I use for overall tuning is 'Radha Kaise Na Jale' from the Lagaan movie. Apart from brilliant orchestration, its recording quality is one of the best.
It starts with some brilliant highs from close to the inner left of the right speaker that then is then filled in from the left speaker and overlaps over one another. This intro high frequency percussion should have lots of sparkle and air with good weight to the instruments and hover just above the speakers. But it should not sound sibilant.
This then leads into frame drums with lots of impact that goes low, with the highs still in the background.
Then comes the beautiful vocals of Asha Bhosle and then the weighty vocals of Udit Narayan....

All the above in the first 2/3 minutes.
It is one of the best songs to tune the 80hz to 20 khs spectrum, as the first 2/3 minutes provide you with everything.

Highs, lows, mids, stage, width, depth, layers, speed and dynamics everything is there in the first few minutes.

Guru junior speakers are meant to work in any room and it does a pretty good job of it i just need little more body
You know I was meant for great things, just ask my mother but then here I am! :D
Your room almost always is as important as the hardware of your chain, if not more. From what you describe, it could very well be due to the room acoustics, post a simple diagram of what your room is like and where the speakers are. Experienced members can guide you on the ways to get more out of your setup with tweaks in speaker positioning and some changes.

Let me rephrase it.

Problem is more with female voice. I find it to be too thin and little backwords. Over all I would like the vocal to come little towords listening position..and little air around it too

Can you post a picture of your room/speaker setup and highlight any Wood/fabric behind or in the sides ?

Usually if you toe in such that the tweeters fire into the ears and avoid overdamping of the room , HF response will not be to bad.

Full bodied also comes due to lower harmonics so the bass response is very important..and placement of speakers at the right distance from back and sidewalls help there

The speakerd are meant to be place as close as possible to wall anf I have done the same. Will send pics

I use ak70 as transport with chord mojo as dac

I assume ak70 is DAP
Experiment with something else as source , maybe even a PC with player software of your choice

Also what @arj has suggested is also very important

Adding to his suggestions also experiment with listening position. Don't shy away from breaking the norm as far as listening position goes , like for example its always suggested to form an equilateral triangle from your speakers. Do move the listening position further back and see what changes you get wrt sound

Collectively you will able to hopefully get the sound you desire

If you have done the best you have with the setup, ..another area to consider is if your amp/pre needs to be serviced ie caps etc.

and what stands do you use and have you coupled the speakers to them using any means ?

Purchase the Audiolab 6000A Integrated Amplifier at a special offer price.
