Need Help to setup my Home Theater

Hi Guys,

Need some help from you all experts. I need to setup my Home Theater

Below are the componets which i own,

TV- Samsung LED 46"
AVR- Yamha 467
Cable- Scod Settop Box (No HDMI)
Media Player - WD TV min (No HDMI).

I would like to make use of my AVR the Most for connecting all these togather.

You need to make the following connections

1. Cable to AVR
Use Component cable to connect the Video
Use Coaxial/Optical cable to connect the Audio

2. WDTV Mini to AVR
Use Component cable to connect the Video
Use Coaxial/Optical cable to connect the Audio

Your AVR has 2 component inputs for the video and 2 each of coaxial/optical for digital audio. You can use either or one of each.

3. Lastly AVR to TV
I am not sure if the AVR upconverts the component video to HDMI.
If yes, use HDMI or else you have to use Component video cable for the same.
No audio connection here as your speakers are connected to the AVR directly.

Just Few Clarifications.

Cable Settop box -Has RCA\Composite out, will this not carry Audio, it does not have a Explicit Audio Out.

WDTV mini - I have below connection

Componet Out
Composite Out
Optical Audio Out

Will the Componet not carry Audio , or you suggest to optical Audio for better Quality.
