Need information about stereo receivers

We are interested only in music & home theatre doesn't sounds good for music. Anybody have details about 2.1 stereo receivers .Our budget is only 30k including speakers. My brother is coming from US in couple of months , so is it advisable to buy receiver from there ? Any suggestions welcome ...

A 2.1 Receiver is a two channel amplifier that has a sub out and a radio receiver. At 30K it is very difficult to assemble a decent system. So unless you have a specific reason to have a sub and a radio built in, look for a just a two channel amplifier from NAD, CA, Denon. Link one of these to a decent CD Player, and a good pair of bookshelves, and you are all set.
