I have a decade old altec lansing 2.1 with a 4' sub. Amazing sound.

You can try different positions even with the single sub you have. The T5 you have mentioned

JBL active studios depending on your budget and room size. I just picked up 3 units of 308p mk 2 and the 8 inch woofer is a wonder. You can go for smaller ones- 305/306.

Try reversing the polarity of the subwoofer. Sometimes reverse polarity sounds better.

You can go for a 2.1 setup with used bookshelf speakers of 5-6 inches (4-5K), a passive subwoofer 7-8 inches (2-3k) and a n21 2.1 amplifier 9-10k having bluetooth to connect to the TV. Would not suggest to go for Class D amps. Did not like Class D personally. If you need help in finding speakers you can DM me.
