I have tried several NAD tuners and receivers. Among the receivers, I have tried the 402 and the 412, both excellent tuners. The 402 has legendary status among tuner buffs as it won the What-Hifi best tuner award, back in the 1990s. It has an excellent sound signature coupled with excellent reception capabilities. The filtering is also superb. The 412 is the upgraded version of the 402. These tuners are usually expensive and unless you are a serious FM listener, it may be difficult to spend on them. My tuner is used only to listen to English programming on Saturday evenings, the local content is not to my taste. A good score could be a vintage NAD stereo receiver. These had excellent tuner sections. The best in my opinion are the 7020e and the 7020i which combine an excellent tuner with the legendary NAD 3020 amplifier.
