I have recently purchased a set of BS over and above my existing FS and am retaining both. But my problem is that a full fledged stand would take up additional floor area which i do not have presently which you can easily see from the picture given and it is not possible to shift the sub further right or else it will become an obstacle in the corridor adjacent. So my question is if there are any negative sides of keeping the bs on top of the Fs like in picture. Of course another option i have is to get a custom built wooden stand that occupies lesser floor area but has a bigger top to accommodate the BS comfortably

The ideal height for a BS speaker is 26 ~ 27 Inches (66cm - 68cm) from the floor level...Any FS height would be 1M (100cm).. So you have placed it more than the ideal height...

Which BS are they ? do they have wall mounting options ?

I also faced the same situation. But my Floorstanders are quite wide. So I placed my bs horizontally on top of them with a thin anti skid rubber mat in between. Works well for me. In your case you may try keeping the bs upside down(if possible) so the Tweeter height is reduced. Also do use some sort of anti skid mat. Or it will be a disaster waiting to happen :P

@elangoes, the BS is Avaino 2 and they being rear ported are hence unsuitable for wall mounting. But if the FS is coming 1 meter high should the BS not also be 1 Meter high from ground to top of speaker?

@elt93, Thanks for the suggestion but I am planning to use custom ply based stands as below.

My Aviano 6 FS measure 39 inch from base to top including the 1 inch spike at the bottom which is around 99 cm. So if I have to keep the BS similarly so that the top of both are at same height then I am thinking of using a stand design as below which will end up elevating the speakers by 2 inch making it around 41 inches to the top ~ 104 cm and my seating position is such that my ear height when seated will be around 41 inches.

I am going my this peculiar design because the subwoofer as shown in the diagram cannot be moves further to the right thereby restricting me from using a standard speaker stand which usually has wider base for the stability.

Now my question is
1. Is there any drawback of putting the FS on top of 2 inch ply, of course there will be around 0.5 cm PVC buffers at the bottom of the ply (not shown in the diagram) which will partly act as dampers?
2. Is there any drawbacks for placing the BS in this fashion? Please note that FS will be used strictly for music with stereo amp and BS strictly for movies with AVR.
3. Any other drawback or points to keep in mind?

These are for the HT. They can be wall mounted. Try to find some largish brackets like these or these.
Or maybe these from Magma.
Before you do that, test them by placing them close to the wall. Stick a piece of foam in the bass port if you need to reduce the bass.

From the M-S Aviano website:
All Mordaunt-Short speakers are designed to take typical domestic room acoustics into account and their bass performance is tailored in the knowledge that they will necessarily be used in rooms with walls. So, while the documentation that came with your speakers will include some specific recommendations about their appropriate distance from the walls of the listening room, generally, Mordount-Short speakers can used anywhere from right up against the walls (not in corners mind you) to about one metre away from the walls.

If you can match the height of BS to that of a FS in the images that you have shown, it is good enough....

wall mounting is difficult due to presence of a pillar just to the right, that is why even I eliminated the idea of wall mounting in the first place which otherwise was much easier and cheaper. This is a problem only with the right hand side but not on the left.

Wall mounting can definitely be done on a pillar. I have done so.

No dear my situation is different. My problem is
1. The HT table cannot be shifted on either side or else the switch boards at the back will become visible
2. Currently the HT table is exactly at the center of the wall having equal spaces left on both side (excluding the pillar) thereby making the center channel of HT exactly aligned with the center of the seating position on the opposite side
3. If I mount the BS on the pillars on the right, I will need to mount the BS on the left hand side at a equal distance where there is a door obstruction.

Now do you get my problem? Also if you look at the picture in my first post there is limited space between FS and pillar to house a BS mount in the walls and moreover I intend to reduce this further with the solution I proposed so that the FS are placed wider than they are now, because currently the distance between the two FS is a bit less than my seating distance from the speakers which I intend to also equal at least
