New amp in the house

A few weeks back i got a new amp, the Aurorasound HFSA 01. It’s a 14 watt, push pull, ultra linear, integrated amp using 4 EL84 tubes. It also has a built in MM phono stage and a headphone amp.

I purchased the amp from Tareeq. EBI Audio is the official distributor for Aurorasound in India. It was a pleasure dealing with Tareeq. EBI Audio gets my highest recommendation.

I now have about 35 hours on it. Manufacturer recommends 80-100 hrs for complete break in.

It’s an incredibly resolving amp. Very musical and has great bass. From my experience, i can confidently say that it will give most amplifiers, costing multiples of HFSA 01, a run for their money.

There are tons of great reviews on the net. For once a product lives up to all the great reviews. FWIW, it’s a Stereophile Class A product.

If 14 watts is sufficient, do try and listen to the HFSA 01.

I heard a Aurorasound preamp (can't remember the model no) + Lamm power amp, which I compared with EAR tube preamp and it beat it.

A few guys in Delhi own Aurorasound products. Cybervinay used to own the HFSA 01.

The only Aurorasound product i have heard is the HFSA 01. I have no idea how their other products sound.

HFSA 01 came into the reckoning because someone i know who owns a very high end system, costing in excess of a million USD, strongly recommended the HFSA 01, saying it’s his favourite integrated.

Boutique amplifiers / kit have a clear headed design and sound philosophy which are not really dictated by market trends !
