Hii I recieved my Aviano 6 yesterday ,.. paired them with Marantz Pm6003 using Chord Rumour 2 cable..

Please suggest Burn-In steps for this speaker...
1.Can I use the speaker at higher sound levels with bass controller at highest position ... because as of now the Bass response is not heart shattering until I increase the bass controller on my marantz to abt 80%.

2. The Manual says : Put one speaker in Out-Of-Phase (Changing the polarity of speaker wrt to the amp...I hope tats wat it means)
BTW how Out-Of-Phase helps the speakers burn in ?? and Is it advisable for long durations of listening..

3. Can I listen to the speaker at high volumes (above 10 O clock position on PM6003 ) or shd avoid as of now till the burn-in period?

Please help in these regards and if there are any other suggestions :clapping:

Hi,

The Manufacturer recommends 36 hours for initial burn-in. Play all sorts of tracks at moderate volume, for burn-in. My Aviano-2 took nearly 50 hours of playing for burn-in, after which the bass became tighter, highs were smooth & crisp, another 50 hours will improve the mid-range clarity, and details improved a lot, making me play tracks at a slightly lower volume than I usually play.

Congrats on your purchase.

THANKS..! Does the BASS response increases... I mean now I have to turn the bass knob to 80% .. will it improve on burn-in ..?
AND shd I follow the Out-Of-Phase procedure??
Try looking for stereo test cd which will help in burning in your speakers quicker.
Where can I get one?? download??

Putting speakers out of phase does not do any harm to amp or speakers. However audible bass response is significantly degraded as the waves from 2 speakers are out phase to each other and cancel out. Of course you put the speakers back in phase it becomes normal.
I dont know how it will help in burn in though.
No harm to listener while listening to out of phase speakers but in no way you will like the sound. It is as if the body of the music is lost.

mfgr recommended burnin process is not just wiring them out of phase but also need to place them in close proximity facing each other. Perhaps the pushpull action help accelerating the process

Not sure whether keeping them in close proximity facing each other will help. For push pull action to take place, they should be in same chamber (like isobaric subwoof) or are actually touching each other physically without any air leak. There must be some logic but not sure what it is.

Thats wat... i am searching for tat logic behind .. keeping them face to face and one speaker in out-of-phase,,

When I bought my M-S Mezzo 2's I ran them for about 20 hours continuously wiring one of the speaker out of phase with speakers facing each other with little gap between them.
By wiring out of phase and placing it facing each other I observed the sound output is very low and you can run them at slightly more volume level than normal with out causing disturbance to others/neighbours.
After 20 hours I started using them normally. BTW Aviano and Mezzo has same woofer.

This does seem to make sense. The SPL Level will be quite low even if you pump relatively more watts into speakers. So you will achieve loosening of the speaker suspension much earlier.

Simple way could be just keep on listening to usual stuff. Will take some more time. Thats all. You may not feel that extra time because one is likely to get used to the sound earlier which is another important factor for liking a speaker.

So you mean that people like me who did not do the burn in as recommended in the user guide will still have the same effect but may be in a delayed manner?

So DID U find noticeable difference after the Burn-In ??

Not much of a difference. In fact the bass performance was great right out of box and improved slightly after some 30 - 40 hours. BTW I was using them with my NAD amplifier and found the bass to be adequate with out using bass treble control.

Try playing normal stuff for few days and see if anything has improved. May I ask what source are you using and what kind of music are you playing?

AND I mostly listen to
Linkin Park, Dire Straits,P.Floyd & Hindi numbers-new n old...
Well I wd post my experience after listening for few hrs.

Exactly!
After all, from whatever I have read, what burn in period does is to loosen up the suspension of the diaphragm which is stiff initially. This improves bass and mid response. In recommended burn -ins, many times music is played continuously for say 50 hours. What i feel is that if you spread the time over 25 days (2 hours of listening per day) you will get the effect after say 4 weeks rather than 2 days but you will get it. That's all.

What I don't know is if the burn in is all about loosening the suspension, then for sealed boxes (and for ported boxes above port frquency), the air in the box is going to work as suspension for the diaphragm and is going to resist backward movement. In a way, it protects the driver from reaching X max but won't it also affect burn -in effect?
So should a driver be ideally made to go through burn in period before being put into the box? If yes, why don't these commercial companies do so?

Experts, please comment.

After 20 hours of use... the bass has improved... boominess which was low earlier has become more less now... Don find any change in the mids
