Hello everyone! great to finally find a place crammed wiht audio experts. a breif bout self, im born and raised in outskirts of mumbai (Thane) and took my first dip into amatuer level audiophilegiri if you will some 5 years back... i did my share of lil research and sampled JBL, Polk, KEF and some bose.. but then, i had a budget too. a budget which would still get me basic level JBL et al.. but i went for all indian set up.. and i msure many would just get turn their back to this thread once they hear Pulz and Pandam.. yes, iwent ahead and got a Pulz 60+60 watts amp/pre amp combo running into Pandam Satellites and passive subs. am i still a happy customer? oh yes, big time. me and my freinds often take it to famrhouses for overnight parties as well. all it needs is two walls and a ceiling.. party is full one from there.

now, i think it's time to upgrade into somethign which is very niche. im planning to either set up a system from scratch or maybe use some of the current system and add to it. where do i start...?

i listen to mostly pop, techno, trance, rock & jazz.. bassicallyi listen to anything form gorillaz, to panic at the disco to maroon 5 to sepultura to digital talk to miles davis..

what i'm looking for in a system

1. Rich sound
2. Fuller, complete sound
3. rich mids and bass
4. must be able to skip a heartbeat if turned on
5. must potray an image of perfect blance when listening to live or unplugged music.
6. additional bonus if it can double up for mpovies as well.. but not a priority.
7. must be good for open parties as well..

i know im asking too much... but based on my previous choices and taste, where should start? i dont mind a huge bass box and towers...but would prefer satellites..

welcome to the forum @Jenson!

set yourself a budget first.

AFAIK Rich, Refined sound can only be produced in a controlled environment. you won't get a speaker that fits all kinds of music, (i can't imagine Jazz being pumped out through party speakers!!!).
the best bet for you will be to go for party (Bright) speakers ( the likes of JBL).

Get something with a high sensitivity 90db+.

more specifics (suitable equipment) can only come from knowing the budget!

Welcome to the forum.

Thats what this hobby is all about. It looks like you have achieved the goal most of us are still trying to find.

now, i think it's time to upgrade into somethign which is very niche.

Now I am a bit confused. Why do you want to change something that you already are enjoying. If you are missing something from current setup then what is it? There is no guarantee that an upgrade will be beneficial to you. Niche is subjective and is not a recipe for satisfaction

im pretty regular at a similar site elsewhere. the site is abotu perfumes where i have more than 5000 posts..some 800 odd re views and close ot 200 feedbacks... and i perfectly realte to waht most would say here in my situation, which is, if you are already happy, why look out? OR, try as many as you can and see what you like !! :)

every product has what we call as designer and niche. im of the belief that while designer perfumes smells good.. niche offers something extra.... an extra flavor of something one likes..

same with speakers and amps i guess.. .there are sooo many brands...i just know where to start..

long sorty cut short, i like fuller sound. what my current system misses is the richness of a fuller sound. my current system is absolutel fab for most types of music.. but i feel it's missing something. i would lik something which doesnt sound tinny.

im allowed to spend 50k.. and i wouldnt mind to keep my current amp or speaker...in other words, im willign to spend the entiure 50k upgrading one of those two...

best! and hey, thanks for the warm welcome :)
