cyber_cat and Fantastic...
No point in polishing them, as all the gold is gone and they are down to the brass[?] I put deoxIT, but that just makes them look cleaner. Brass does oxidise in the air.
I think that connecting and disconnecting 10-15 times would do me for
years. The only reason to disconnect from the amp end is if I take it somewhere (which has happened, as I wanted to experience it in a "proper" hifi at capt rajesh's.).
This box is a classic, is ten years old at least, maybe more, and might have seen quite a lot of conection/disconnection in its life (which was with ReignOfChaos before me). It should also see a very long life ahead of it.
Hat's of to Mr McCormack. I wish I could afford his current offering ---about $20,000

. I know he is a believer in audiophile cables, and probably in audiophile connectors. OK, I am not, but I would not like to reduce the specification or performance of this box, but I suspect that me might be in favour of $00 parts! Of course, I could ask.
(They look lovely on the inside, where the gold is still there (Hmmm, got some pics somewhere) which is, I suppose, what got me thinking about this)
