I want to implement a new stereo setup in my home.

Right now I have Samsung mini hi-fi VS730 which has subwoofer+woofer+tweeter+super tweeter in a package for each speaker. It sounds good for average listener. But I want to replace my setup with seperate components with stereo amplifier and bookshelf or tower speakers.

Most of the time I used to listen all type of tamil songs, especially songs of Raja sir and some hindi songs as well.

I came to know that Norge amplifier and Boston speakers are a good pair.

Can you guys please suggest the best amplifier model and speakers for this setup..

My max budget is 25K..

For even a decent stereo setup, 25K will be very stringent, considering that you are taking about separates, etc. First of all note that the speakers that are paired with Samsung VS730 are most likely not reusable (however good they are) because most likely their impedance is non-standard such as 3? or 4?; standard amps accept 6? to 8? speakers.

You have not talked about the source for music. Is it CD or digital music? What about Tapes? You have mentioned replacing existing system. Don't you need these players?

But even if we just speak about a good amp + pair of bookshelves, the cost will be minimum 35K (15K for amp and 20K for speakers). Realistically this will be close to 50K (25K for amp and 25K for speakers). Norge is a good amp. Consider Marantz PM5005 also (25K). For speakers, it is best to match by auditioning.

Yes u're right. The impedance of my speaker is 4? and subwoofer is 6?.

I just wanted to sell my old samsung system and invest additional amount of 25k for the new system. What is the expected price for my old system if i want to sell.

My source of music would be mp3 files from my LG dvd player

Can i pair norge 2060 wiith BA26 speakers?

How the quality is and how much i have to spend for this setup

You can pair Norge 2060 with BA26 speakers, as far as the synergy of the pairing it is difficult to tell unless you hear it first.
Boston Acoustics A26 is going for incredibly low price at the moment in hifimart, although it is out of stock now. Call and ask and probably they should be in stock again:
Boston Acoustics A 26 Bookshelf Speaker (Pair, Black Finish)

Ask around in Norge threads how it pairs with different brands, you will find some safe combinations out there. In the For Sale section there are some good options available, particularly for speakers.

Try OLX or such sites for selling your system. If the system is fairly new or in pristine condition, then you may get up to 40% of the original price.

My suggestion would be to wait, save and then take the plunge instead of making a compromise.

I am using Norge 2060 with BA26 for few days now and it sounds really good. You can for sure go for it. You will need a source though.

Hi, I am also in search of a good entry level HiFi system.
I am a novice in this field. I am sharing the information I got during my market survey for the benefit of like minded friends in this forum.
The initial research reveals that if we are going for international brands then we should have 50K to 55K as budget.
Yamaha AS500 is available for Rs. 28850 in Chennai similarly Marantz PM6004 around Rs.30000.
Bookshelves like Dali Zensor 1 is available for Rs. 20500 and Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 for Rs. 24000.
Both these integrated amplifiers are very famous and sells like hot cakes so is the speakers.
Hence without a budget of 55K one should not go for these brands. Than I started studying about Indian products and learned that Norge 2060 is the winner in indian market.
It is available for Rs.11400 in Chennai. So with a budget of 35K we can plan for Norge 2060 + Dali/Wharfedale bookshelf (provided you have your own good source).
But to feel the synergy of these combo one has to go for an audition.
M/s Vipul Audiotech, Kilpauk, Chennai is having a good demo room I heared. Interestingly I happened to visit the showroom of M/s Torvin, Richi Street, Chennai.
Mr.John Thankachan is an audio specialist and assembles his own products with the brand name TORVIN.
You can visit the website also.
I listened the performance of his basic integrated amp and bookshelf with tamil classical, malayalam melodies and some western tracks.
The performance was extremely impressive. But the price was at par with international brands. Do share your experiences also.

Hi,

With 25 K budget, You could try Pre-Owned Speaker+Entry Level Amp. Say spend 8 to 10k For Speaker and rest 15kfor amplifier.Hope you have source already available.

Olx,Quikr is the best source for preowned speaker. Entry level Nordge or CA would be close to your budged.

I would choose to go with complete pre-owned first then move to a dedicated new Set-up.I could see a NAD amp for sale in the forum, its a best for entry level amp so wait for the speakers.NAD being warm sounding amp look for speaker with bit Bright like Mission,JBL,POLK etc

All the best for the set-up

i suggest nad 302 or 304 amp(used),any marantz old cd player, and tannoy mercury v1 speakers.all are available in the olx

When you are on tight budget, whatever little equip you have is gold :eek:hyeah:

I would suggest you to re-use your speaker with a good stereo receiver... Consider Onkyo TX 8020 stereo receiver for around 27K in snapdeal....

http://www.snapdeal.com/product/onkyo-tx8020-b-stereo-receiver/914705070

Since you are budget, re-use a DVD player if you have them to play CD's...

Later when you have enough budget, use them to buy speakers/CD players...
