New Videocon LED TV Dead. Dissatisfied from Service Centre.

Hello FMs,

I am writing on behalf of my sister & BIL. Wanted to share their experience with the forum and convey your suggestions to them.

My sister & brother in law bought a new Videocon Pearl LED TV for 9K from Sri Pirgal Electronics, Hyderabad. Within a week, the TV went completely dead.

They complained to the dealer and later a service guy visited them, but went away after checking the set, saying nothing concrete. In fact what he said was astonishing "This is a new model introduced and we don't have much idea!"

Later they put up a complaint at the call centre, which cancelled the previous complaint and lodged a new one. Again a service guy visited just to do & tell nothing. Now, its over a week's time since the TV is lying dead in their house with no assurance of either a replacement or even a repair.

I would be grateful if someone has a Videocon contact to share so as to solve this problem. Also, please share your suggestions too on the matter.

Regards.

Guys come on, So many views but no reply?

Just had a chat with my Sister. She told me that the TV was bought on 1st June. Went kaput on 09th June. Since then its lying uselessly. The dealer has refused to replace the TV until instructed by Videocon. Videocon does not seems in any hurry to solve the problem either.

Please pour in your ideas.

send a notice to videocon and dealer asking for repair and replacement through registered post....this would make them realize that you are serious and would take a legal route if they remain non-responsive.

Also, see if you post about this in social sites like FB, Twitter if videocon is active. Also, check Linkedin for service head or customer care head and send an email to them.

Its unfortunate to see this tale again and again. I remember mentioning the status of Videocon long back in this forum. (This bad experience happened apprx 2 yrs back) One of my friend went ahead and bought Videocon 37" LCD (under some good offer he couldn't resist) and he had audio issues in less than a year (under warranty). With umpteen number of times (calling customer care, service engineers visiting his house, issue not resolved. I even told him to mail to VP sales/marketing with all details. Finally i suppose they replaced (- even the normal warranty period got over, but he had extended warranty too) the panel or so (Later he developed even video issues!!!). I don't remember. But he had very very tough time. He was watching TV with no audio!!! Sorry to see his status.

Best - return the TV get the refund go for a better branded/ service offerings. Or you want to take the other route (consumer forum etc), then have patience and go ahead.

Hi write email to their customer care mentioning that you are fed up and want nothing but the refund...also in the same email ask for area manager or regional head email adress or phone number. In parellel call customer care and ask the same details mentioning your disappoint ment... And keep rigorous follow up...make a note and records of all the dates...and keep mentioning them in every emails... Just to give u a confidence... I havd git a cimplete refund of my lg 2011 led tv of rs 74000 for a small issue of magic motion remote.so if I can , u very well can. All the best...

Thanks my dear Forum members,

The update is that my BIL had mailed to many senior officials of Videocon marking the local service center's email in C.C. He was forced to do it because the service center people stopped taking his calls. He complained about the set and even put up the fact on the mail that the local ASC guys are neither responding nor picking his calls.

Last evening, he received a message from the service center that an approval for replacement of the set has been received from the company.

A few minutes ago, another message pops up saying that the set will be replaced anytime TODAY! :yahoo:

Let's see if they do it today. Will surely update the thread once its done.

Thanks to all HFVians to participate and offer their suggestions to come over from this ordeal.:)

Regards,
Saket

why do people buy VIDEOCON? I know a person who was in the Quality Dept. of this company ...he says that the company has a policy to buy components which will stop working after the warranty period is over! this is way they reduce cost...lol

That's a good news! My take would be - get the new system and then resell or exchange it (even if you get some lower price) and go for a better reputed brand. Even though i persume this replaced product (model) would not give any issues sooner, but doubt about its long term serving.
My friend had the same replacement stuff too. But not sure what happened later.
My 2 paisa! You should have a peace of mind rather than having "pieces" of your mind - later!

Hello Members,

Time for some good news. After all that initial inaction & disagreement on changing the set, the guys from the service center dropped at the place at about 10 at night with a new set!

They have replaced the TV set and the matter is sorted to our satisfaction now.

Thank you all for pouring in suggestions & concerns.

Regards,
Saket
