No 5.1 sound in Videocon D2H V 7000hdw

Dear Friends
I have D2H V7000 HDW HD set top box connected to TV with HDMI cable, there is a option in d2h to select 5.1 sound in HD channel but when select 5.1 sound, then sound becomes mute, there is only HDMI and AV output only in d2h setop box, kindly help how can I get 5.1 sound

Your tv is stereo. It cannot decode 5.1 signal. Connect to a multi channel receiver.

Yes no set top box does. Either hdmi or a coaxial/optical. It needs to be connected to a receiver that can decode.
