no front wide speaker setting on onkyo 609 as claimed

the press release and onkyo website claim that 609 can have front wide or height speakers thru audyssesy asx. just got the 609 and hooked it up and there is no options for wides-only heights...aarrgghh! shud sue em-really wanted to try wides compared to rear surrounds as suggested by audyssesy

I think you need another pair of speakers which can be assigned for that(surr back).

By option do you mean connectivity option or setup configutaion option? I think the rear two channel of 7.1 setup needs to be reused for front wide channels.

I brought 609 1 month back ,if you see in configuration ,you have option to select surround back or front high ,am not using but i have seen the configuration.

Here it is- 609 can have surround backs or front heights..connectivity and settings for both. No help from onkyo- wrote to audyssey- they confirmed that onkyo decided to use dsx only for heights and not for wides on the 609. Shocking considering most reviews and press releases avail online claim that wides can be used!

Have decided to go for front heights iso rear surrounds, or consider changing amp at some point.
