Hi,
I need your advice on whether I can use my old Technics 4.1 Speakers on an AVR (say Denon 1713 or Yamaha RX-V473).
============================================
Speaker details are as follows (13-14 years old) working well
TECHNICS
SURROUND/SATELLITE(2) MODEL SB-PS10
IMPEDENCE: 4 Ohms
INPUT : 50W MUSIC: 25W DIN
MAIN SPEAKERS (2) MODEL SB-CH770
IMPEDENCE: 6 Ohms
INPUT : 100W MUSIC: 50W DIN
CENTER (1) MODEL SB-PC10
IMPEDENCE: 8 Ohms
INPUT : 160W MUSIC: 80W DIN
========================================
My Technics Music System has 4 separate units [Stereo Amp; Tuner/Sound Processor; 5CD Disc Changer; Twin-Tape Deck]. Most of it's features have stopped working & i do not know where to get it serviced. I live in Mumbai.
My PC i7-3770K is connected to my 47"LED by HDMI. I have a collection of over 1400 full HD movies. I also have a Sherwood Blu-ray player (connected HDMI directly to TV). Size of my room is 10 x 23ft.
I was thinking of buying an new AVR. My preference is 80%movies and 20%music.
So can I use my existing Technics Speakers ? Would they match with a Denon 1713 ?
Do I need to get any further speakers ?
Is my center speaker (technics 8 ohm/160W) a sub ?
Keeping my fingers Xcrossed. Please guide me accordingly and let me know if there is any further info that you need.
Thanks
Terry
