This is out of curiocity. Wayback in 1970 - 75 in one electronic exhibition in thane i have seen a verticle record player / tt by bush
similarly in those days - most of us may be remembering - some corner irani restaurants use to keep record player called jukebox where also the records were played vertically. In normal record player / tt a tone arm is placed on record to play. What was the technic behind this verticle players anybody knows ?

A spring pressed the cartridge against the record.

The spring pressure was reasonably high, and not very well controlled... could therefore use only Very rugged ( and poor sounding ) cartridges....

Nice information. I have never seen this kind of TT.

In fact when I was searching for a TT in last 2 months, I came across Linear Turn Table which I have not come across before.

Sony Had 2,3 vertical TT ,dunno what was the technology..

Like Sony PS 59,Sony PS-F5
In fact I think these are tt walkans

Anyone want to sell?:eek:hyeah::eek:hyeah:
Mitsubishi also had one..

Anyone has Audio Technica Sound Burger? A similar horizontal player?

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
