Onkyo 3500 setup

Hi I'm very new to this. I just bought a onkyo 3500 surround sound and I have the digital optical hooked up from my satellite box directly to the receiver. I can only get sound from the front 2 speakers. I've tried different settings but with no luck getting all speakers to work. Can anyone help me with settings or tell me what I'm doing wrong. Thx

What is the audio mode in the Onkyo, change it to Dolby Prologic (the mode name might be Auto) and see if the dialogues are coming from center channel.

Also All Channel Stereo is another option.
