My dad decided that it was finally time to move with technology and upgrade to digital. He ended up buying something locally, but i wanted to get him something better (mostly because i highjacked his cd player buying fund back when i was in college to buy a discman, and have always felt guilty about it)

Was looking for a decent deal on a dvd player on good friday, and saw a non working Onkyo C7030 locally for $25. Picked it up and changed the transport ($12)
It sounds amazing - better than any $100 DAC i have had!

Yup, I have the 7030 for my smaller setup in the bedroom - its fairly decent and totally worth the small price. Its not as bright though as some others so pair with speakers that have good, clear highs and you should be good.

Transport means the loadning tray you changed... Right?
How did you get a match for this player?
