oppo 93 vs 95

i'm interested only play blu-ray's, do you think there'll be a difference in quality between oppo-93 and any other region A blu-ray player,if NO then please suggest me region A or region free 3d blu-ray player.

If BDs are all that you will be playing then save your bucks and go for a Panasonic BDP that can be made region free by firm ware update. Use the money saved in some other hi-fi equipment.

which Panasonic model are you talking about, as i know to make bd player region free hardware modding needed, can a firmware update do it ?

If you are using the Oppo's BDP-93 and connecting through the Onkyo NR-609 via HDMI, your video signal will be clipped. The video processor in Onkyo clips the video signal which causes to loos the contrast ratio and color depth you get from oppo. You haven't mentioned your display. Is it a TV or projector and which make and model.

Hi! thanks for info! i've 55" 3d led tv, i don't know much about receiver but as i read what hifi rated five star to onkyo nr-609 so i decided to go with it so please suggest me any other receiver to get best picture and sound quality, and
do you think choice between dali and monitor audio will make a difference on audio quality? please suggest

Hi,

I avoid reviews that are very subjective. Until unless someone shows the technical testing and the results, I stay away from them. In general all reviews are geared towards convincing a customer to buy the product. many times they are paid reviews.

I typically use Denon receivers almost all the time for installations, as they give best value for money to the customer (not the dealer).

Based on your budget you can go with AVR-1912, AVR-2112 or AVR-2312.

Audio processor, Audyssey calibration gets better in the higher models.

Here is a comparison chart for the receivers

Room has significant affect on the audio performance. Audyssey calibration will help a lot. Monitor audio speakers are fine if budget is a concern.

If you are using Oppo BDP-93, set the video output (HDMI1) to RGB, 36-bits.

Let me know if you need anything else.

Hi!
thanks for such a great info! i'm thinking to buy modded Oppo-93 to play
all region blu-ray, from where i can get best deal?

i decided to go with oppo-93 modded, denon avr-1912 and dali zensor 7, dali vocal, dali zensor 1, now only i need is good subwoofer, can you suggest me? the only thing i concern that there is no bi-wiring in dali zensor, does this impact on the audio quality?

thanks for reply, i want region free or region A player least to play movies purchased from amazon, my only aim to get good picture and sound quality if i
get it at less amount then why should i spend such a large amount on oppo, please suggest

Unless your speakers and amplifiers and cables are costing over 5 lacs roughly, its not much use buying a Rs. 50,000 BDP as the extra detail and clarity might not pass through the system. So what is the rest of your system including interconnects and cables ?

finally got oppo bdp-93, and believe me, what a quality! i used other company blu-ray player also but no match for oppo, the clarity, detail exceptional ! Now my next mission to get receiver and speakers.
