Hi

I'm planning to buy a new plasma tv. I have in mind two TVs:

1) Panasonic 50PV80

OR

2) LG 50PQ70

I'll only use it to watch movies.

Which one do you think is better?

Both the Plasma you listed are HD Ready not Full HD. As far as the PQ goes Panasonic is clearly ahead of the LG but LG has its own +ves-
1) Bluetooth and USB support
2) Wide service network

You may also add Samsung 50" Plasma PS50B550A which is full HD in your shortlist and then compare the three options.

Panasonic PV80

>> Stunning for Standard Definition pictures.
>> Excellent upscaled DVD picture quality.
>> Rich color.
>> Invitation to join PV8/80 elite club:p

Search on the forum to get an idea on the Pana and LG offerings. They are a good guide to figuring out the brand of your choice. Then go and view them in proper lighting without being overly bright.

Well one of the most important factors is also pricing when considering the 3 -

Lg will be the cheapest , then samsung and then Panasonic in the 50" models.

I read in some post in the forum that LG PQ70 50" is costing around 69k which i feel is an awesome price, samsung or Panasonic 50" wont be available in this pricing range.

Thanks every body :)

I really don't care about price because they almost have the same price.
The most important thing is qualiy and whether it leaves dark spots (you know when you are watching one channel and then you changed it you'll find marks of the prev channel).

So, what do you think?
