Congratulations to Payal Kapadia and team for wining the second most important award at Cannes festival - the Grand Prix for her feature film ‘All We Imagine as Light’. Here’s an artistic review of this masterpiece. This crowns Payal’s record at Cannes - she had won the Golden Eye award for best documentary in 2021 for her ‘A Night of Knowing Nothing’

Eager to watch Payal’s works. Hoping for a sooner release in cinema halls or OTT, including her past work.

It's been a great year at Cannes for India.
Anasuya Sengupta becomes the first Indian to win a best actress award. She did so for her performance in "Shameless" in the Un Certain Regard section.
Two Indian films, "Sunflowers were The First Ones To Know" and "Bunnyhood" won first and third place in the La Cinef section.
The restored version of Shyam Benegal's Manthan had a special screening.

Congratulations to all.

Another winner this year is Santosh Sivan who became the first Asian to receive the prestigious Pierre Angenieux ExcelLens award.

And, to add, Kapadia has been a winner at Cannes earlier too.
Her film "A Night Of Knowing Nothing" won the Golden Eye award for the best documentary film in 2021.
Another film of hers, "Afternoon Clouds", featured in Cannes in 2017 in the Short Film section.

Three Cheers for the Team.
