Philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer on Noise

Hello Analogous, thanks for all of your philosophical treatise(s).

"The nature of our intellect is such that ideas are said to spring by abstraction from observations, so that the latter are in existence before the former."
"On the other hand, an artificial education is having one’s head crammed full of ideas, derived from hearing others talk, from learning and reading, before one has anything like an extensive knowledge of the world as it is and as one sees it."

How philosophers have the ability to describe and foresee how humans behave! This is so observant of the world today, with an inundation of ideas, or what we call data!

And noise - what more can be said of it today!

I agree Virenji, you have expressed our existential crisis nicely.
It’s often overwhelming.

But then like most of us, I discovered that we can adapt and make our individual choices on how we use the limited time available to us. I guess the loner we live the more we learn, accumulate and hopefully become wiser.
The huge overflow of information and data is what has brought about the so called AI revolution and LLMs and associated industry of massive servers/data centres.
Data from any source is considered valuable even if the individual data may not seem so to us.
The US wants to collect DNA samples from all visitors to the country. I am still pondering on how this data will be used.
If you get an opportunity do try this book which examines this issue and related aspects In the context of music and art of our times.

As you have pointed out these books are full of ideas of other people. I do wish I had the capacity to think analyse and come up with insights like these authors 😊. I console myself that I am fortunate to at least get to learn from them.
