Pioneer SP-BS21-LR deconstructed

Thanks Kneo,

You seem to be smitten by the Pioneer's :D

BTW, where are you at the moment wrt building your set-up??? Any progress???

Honestly not much progress. Am sorting out finances and even my furniture.

The small components that I've got myself so far.

1. All kinds of cables/banana plugs from Monoprice !
2. Monoprice speakers (sheepish grin) that we demoed at Avenue Sound. These are only for stop gap arrangement (got them from the US for $89 only !!!)
3. Sansa Clip+
4. Topping TP20

I think I'd be the first one to start building my set up by getting cables :) Right now I am able to get some basic music out of the monoprice speakers. Even though they are not much, they're better than the Philips HT speakers that I had, so I am happy.

On a serious note, yes I am smitten by the Pioneers and will definitely get myself at least a 3.1 setup of the BS22s to begin with. Knowing how acoustically challenged I am, I wouldn't mind using monoprice as the rear speakers. To power the front speakers, I am planning to get Yamaha 473 or a 573. I am waiting till March/April (when the new 2013 lineup of most companies would be announced) before finalizing. I am also keeping an eye out for a region A PS3 (to be used purely as a Bluray player)

Thanks for the update.

Read the whole thread on PE. People out there have gone nuts with the Pioneers
Ultimately, almost all agree that the A Jones designed Speakers are super duper bang for buck. Now, din we all realise this too when we heard them???

People just have to hear them to believe, otherwise they will not understand :indifferent14:

I'd rather recommend these speakers than the budget speakers that are available in the market
