Pioneer VSX-1016V vs denon avr-390

I got a 1015. And have had several denons, 3600, 3300, 3800, 5700.
I'll take the denons anyday.

I'd take a yamaha dsp a1 or a dsp 3090 over these denons or pioneers.
I even had a VSX 2012 - yea mega monster. Still produced far worse sound than the yamaha.
You put the A1 or 3090 in a surround mode like Church freiburg or somthing and you cant even understand simple talking. Its so echoey and psychedelic sounding.
