Playstation 1 (PS1) SCPH-1001 voltage converter ( 250 - 110 V)

Hi All

Acquired Playstation 1 (PS1) SCPH-1000 - the so called Audiophile CD player- My friend is carrying from U

Now this is US version and I think works only on 110 V ( or am I wrong?)
Unable to locate manual on the net.

Any FM's have experience with this PS1 - also which is suitable voltage converter ..............

What will be tentative price??
What should be specs?
Also anyone in Navi Mumbai / Thane / Mumbai have 1 voltage converter just for testing? I prefer first to check PS1 is working.

Any other tips / experiences?

Welcome to the PS 1 Club. I've been using a PS 1 for several years now and it is one of my favourite CD players.
Most of my PS 1s have been European/Asian models and I never had the 110/220 volt problem. So I'm unsure whether the US version will be 110 volt or it will automatically work with all voltages.
However, you need to check a few things - the spindle hub, which is usually in a bad condition in most old PS 1s. Also the player you need is the one with RCA outputs.
Also keep in mind that the PS 1 is notoriously moody about playing back CD-Rs. Most of them skip while playing CD-Rs that are green or yellow in colour but they happily play black or dark coloured CD-Rs. (Learnt from experience!)

The SCPH 1000 is meant for Asian markets so should be suitable for Asian voltages if somebody has not played around with the PSU in the US.

Sorry mine is SCPH 1001 - trying to change the title.
Also Asian means may be japan - 100 Volts?

Got the stuff will put photoes tonite.
It is SCPH 1001 , 120 V , 60 HZ , 17 watts.

Now for 17 watts what should be idea voltage converter specs? any brands? appx pricing?
