Please help in processor selection

I'm about to avail of the xmas sale and purchase an Emotiva XPA-5.

Was about to get the UMC-1 processor with it but I am wondering if it is the best choice.

The reason for this is :

1. I would like a front input as I often listen to music of my computer using a traktor soundcard and most flac or wav files....

I would like to have airplay functionality....

Therefore I am wondering if should get the UMC-1 and then buy a separate networked CD player or DAC to do the rest...
such as Marantz UK | Network Audio Player

Or if I should ditch the UMC -1 and get a marantz or other processor that has airplay and front inputs....already incorporated.


For starters would there be a difference in SQ between using a Emotiva vs Marantx pre?

How well do Emotiva amps stack up against stratos?

Has anyone heard Emotiva with Dynaudios?

If you are referring to the Odyssey Stratos with the Emotiva - please....
if you are looking for HT application, emotiva may provide a better value

Check out the Marantz AV7005. I think it covers all the bases, and is very nice sounding.

Thanks for the suggestion Viki. It does seem like the AV 7005 would be a better option. For 2 times more however....so I'd have to consider that. One other thread mentioned 48k as th (grey) and close to a lac for official in India.
