Hi Everyone,

Am using a Pioneer VSX 323 and a Pioneer S-31W. The following are the devices i have connected.

Sat/cab - Through HDMI cable
TV - Through OFC
PS3 - Through HDMI cable

The subwoofer is frequently (once in a minute) make a popping sound and it has become extremely annoying. Its a brand New system i have used it for a day. When the installation guys came, they were testing with high volume, so i was unable to find out this problem.

The Popping sound is happening when the low frequency's stop suddenly and while changing the channels in the SAT/CABL. Initially i thought its happening because am changing the channels. I have the same problem even if i connect a Hard Drive to the TV. The cone will just 'pop' back into its default position.

Did any one have the same problem ?

Any ideas to fix ?

Thanks Thampi and Karthi.

I will try to connect the sub in to a different outlet and check. if we have the same problem again do i have to change the sub or can i upgrade/replace the sub to fix it ?

If i have to change the sub, could you please recommend a good one which is compatible with vsx 323.

Thanks Ch@ts,

Thanks for the link, Somebody came from the Pioneer & checked, they said the issue is with the Receiver, which is not the issue, i need to reiterate them about this firmware in the sub.

If i have an option to change the complete unit, can i go head with Onkyo s-3500 is it better than the pioneer ?

could some one help

Hi everyone,

Looks like i have to return the product and go with a different one.. Am stuck with Denon 1312, Onkyo 3500 and Yamaha YHT 299.

Could you please let me know which one i can go for..

I watch 80% movies and 20 % music.

Yamaha YHT 299 has better reviews than onkyo hts3500

slightly more powerful compared to onkyo and with 6 1/2' active sub

The issue is not with the Sub, the issue is with the AVR. I faced the same issue with Pioneer 323k and Polk sw110. I finally returned the AVR and upgraded to Denon x500.
