I have come across some pretty good powered speakers from over the last few days.

any experience sharing would be informative here.

You can do it in the section called 'Active Speakers' though there is fine line between active speakers and powered ones. :)

good ones ( mostly the studio monitors ) are good

the others that have just jumpedonto the wagon are a disappointment and i would stay away from these

the studio ones are the sonodynes, genelecs and the dynas

What are your views on Audioengine and The Emotiva Pro airmotiv 4 and 5 ?

Hi,

If importing not an issue with you, I would suggest emotiva airmotive 4, 5 or even 6 depending on your requirement (room size and budget) even though auditionaing them is not possible.

Reasons:
Emotiva quality (wellknown fact for other components too)
Price to performance ratio
Good reviews all over

Can be paired with Emotiva DAC directly for best combination.

Thinking about same for my 2nd room but due to recent purchase (55 HX 850), sort of budget issue, short term though.

Thanks & Regards,

Amit

i auditioned ,

1. aktimate mini
2. audio engine a2
3. logitech s715
4. jbl onbeat xtreme
5. apple ipod hifi speaker
6. creative zi sound d5

each speakers are in diffrent league.,

overall i liked jbl onbeat xtreme for its bass and mid sound.. it is very best for all purposes such as PC , ipod , i pad , bluetooth ...if your room is below 10*16.. then you will go with jbl.. if your listening position is below 3-4 feet , logitech very best than JBL(in my opinion) for its sonic ability..

if you need seperate speakers for medium sized rooms , aktimate is very fine speakers..

i was bit disappoint with audio engine a2 for its open sounds.. it is only best for desktop placement.. sexy look and quality parts.. but sound is not so open like logitech s715..
