Hi
I have been looking for small speakers for my Yamaha RX 375. My budget is about 80-85K for the 5 speakers and the Sub. Currently I am using Onkyo FS for only a stereo setup but now I would like to move on.

I was in Delhi last week and did audition a few speakers there. mainly Yamaha and Onkyo and some Harman/Kardon HKTS or something. But I was not "thrilled" by any of them. So let the purchase to another date, even auditioned Bose cause I could not find any good small speakers. But nope have picked up none.

My main usage is for Blu-ray Movies and PS4 I don't care so much about music.

I was going thru reviews and have shortlisted the QAcoustic S2000i HT 5.1 System, it is costing about 85K or so, it comes highly recommended on WhatHIFI hence was thinking of taking the plunge.

What are your thoughts on the setup.
Yamaha v375 and the QAcoustic s2000i for the speakers...?
Also I would be in Mumbai next week, so is there any place where I could go to audition these or any other of your recommendations...?
Thanks a lot.

Heard this 5.1 with Yamaha twice briefly. Once in a demo and then in a HFV member's home. It was quite good, but the subwoofer isn't reliable it seems. Check this thread for more info. Seeing this the HFV member got a Velodyne sub and 5.0 from Q-acoustics.

Qacoustic speakers matches well with Yamaha AVR. Still demo is the best way to decide.

I was quite decided, until I saw the following:

Whow, Thanks a lot for the heads-up, truly appreciated.
any indian customers here can tell me if their unit has broken?
Also any idea on it warranty anyone...?

Can anyone suggest me any 5.1 system in my budget of 80K, or thereabouts? How is the Cambridge Audio Minx, and also the wharfedale Moviestar etc?

The subwoofer is definitely covered under warranty, but it's an unnecessary hassle in case it gives up.

From hifimart, you can check this Quad Lite 5.1 package, selling for 84K. Cambridge Audio Minx/Wharfedale Moviestar are satellite packages, you would get get bookshelf packages at your budget.

Look at some options from Def Tech in that price range. Have heard good things about them when it comes to movies.

Dali goes well with yamaha...

Zensor1 pair * 2 - 42k
Zensor vokal Centre - 18.6k

Subwoofer with remaining budget or save up for a better sub...

But make sure rxv375 drives 6ohm speakers... (i think they would)

If you can, get zensor 3 for fronts, they cost 6k more than zensor 1, but add a good bass and sound nearly as good as the zensor 5...

The Yamaha RX v375 gives Output at 6Ohms.

How is the Wharfedale DX-1 but I think its a bit over priced at 67K or so,...when I can get the Q Acoustic for 83K, which is a much newer product.....

67K for a satellite speaker package is too much, IMO. Try to find if you can get hold of Wharfedale obsidian series. This is a 5.0 floor stander package with passive woofers mounted on front speakers acting as subwoofer. It was listed for 75K in hifimart, but is currently out of stock.

Nanu,

If you are going for a sub sat package check out the deftech procinema or Cambridge audio minx series. Even energy take classic , rc micro and klipsch quintet are cost effective and good sound options for a small to medium room size.

Wharfedale obsidian becomes floor Standers again, I would be more inclined towards smaller speakers, I have a small room, in which I dont wanna have intimidating speakers'. Its not a dedicated room, but my bed room :)

Energy RC micro or Take classic speakers will be best for your setup and can mate well with your yamaha receiver.

Any place where I can demo some of these in either Delhi or Mumbai?

I infact quite liked the Minx maybe its the size....

I am in bhopal and have some work in both the cities this month :)

I have still not been able to audition them, anyplace where I can audition the Q Acoustics?

Also how is the 7000i package compared to the 2000i??
The 7000i are about 12K more expensive, but more compact, and satellites compared to Bookshelves in 2000i?

(Also the 7000i has a 20cm sub@150W compared to 2000i's [email protected] I was thinking the contrary thats why posted...)

Thanks a lot.

Hi, you should also consider the Boston Acoustics soundware XS 5.1 speaker system which works quite well.(Better than Bose acoustic mass) HiFiMart sells the same for 23k odd....tons of reviews available including you tube video....its cost effective

The more I read the more inclined i get towards the 7000i compared to the 2000i.
Any one listened to these around here?

UPDATE: I finally bit the bullet and ordered the
Q Acoustic 2000i 5.1 pack.

Should be here by sometime next week. Will surly post more details once it is all here.
Also added some cables to it, some normal cables for the rear, front cables I have got, and 1 Chord Sub cable.
