Quad 11L2 vs. Quad 11L Classic (October 2010)

I just purchased the Quad 11L2s as the fronts for my HT. Love them.

I use a Marantz SR7005, Quad L2 Centre, Wharf Diamond 9.dfs surrounds, and a Wharf Diamond 10 sx sub.

The dealer has offered to swap the 11L2s with the newly released Quad 11L Classic (released October 2010).

How do they compare with the 11L2s?

Not sure about how they sound, but the combination is against the thumb rule, i.e. your fronts and surrounds are from different brands. Preferably the entire setup should be from same brand. I just hope that you heard them as a complete setup before the purchase.

Well.surr can be different than fronts,but centre should not.

Quad claims that the difference from the earlier 11L2 is that newer (classic) can deliver distortion free sound at higher loudness.

There appears to be no talk about changed voicing or quality. Of course the only way to know is to do A/B comparison side by side.

Could you point me to a link where Quad says this? I am unable to find any real comparisons between the L2s and the L classics.
