Hi everyone. I have 43 inch Sony bravia 1080p TV in my room.
The room size is approx 12x13 feet. I live in a quite neighborhood.
There is just one house that is nearby. I only run AC so there is no fan noise. There is no neighborhood noise as well.
At best occasionally i hear bird noises. That's pretty much it.
So i don't use my TV above volume 10.
It supports upto 100. But even 5 to 10 volume is good enough for me to hear everything.
Yes i am currently using Sony built in speakers.
Netflix detects that I'm using stereo speakers so it plays stereo sound.
So I don't have that issue where the music is loud and dialogue is barely audible in some scenes.
However when i download something from the seas. It comes with 5.1 audio
Ideally my TV should down mix automatically.. But no i have to manually increase the volume to 25 or something in some scenes to hear dialogue because the music is too loud.
This means i have to constantly use my remote to increase and decrease the volume based on certain scenes.
I Googled and found out that 3.1 system with center channel would be perfect fix for this.
I searched on Amazon and it basically kept showing soundbars at the top and reviews were also very positive.
To get a second opinion i searched reddit and everyone and the wiki page says soundbars are not good. I should buy speakers.
So if I'm going to buy external speakers and wire my room. I might as well go for 5.1.
so i started looking for 5.1 systems.
The problem is i would still like to watch in low volume.
I understand that some people love to watch with high volume for theater like effect. But that's not me.
Another reason is that even though my room is in first floor and i have only one neighbor house( individual ground floor house) i don't want to disturb them.
My only reason to buy 5.1 is to enjoy the 5.1 files that i get from high seas without managing volumes constantly.
1.Is it possible to enjoy 5.1 audio at low volume?
P.s: i currently use Bluetooth headphone to watch 5.1
But it hurts my ears and i don't like to wear it for long time. I prefer speakers.
Do you guys have any recommendations?
i enquired in Chennai. They are saying starting rate for 5.1 setup is above 80K
But there is this guy on YouTube who assemble and sell 5.1 setup.
I watched many of his videos where he explain lots of technical details about his assembled setup. He seems like a very knowledgeable person and he even posts lots of installation done by him on his YouTube channel.
He quoted me 30k for 5.1 setup with ARC.
Please let me know if this is good deal.
TLDR: i watch at low volume is it even worth to buy 5.1?
