Repairing a rubber surround

I have learned a few tips/ideas from one speaker cone repairer.

Recently i got a pair of full range drivers with small holes and a tear on the 'M' ring.
1. I have fixed the holes with carpenters paper tape. First i cleaned the surface and cut the c. tape in round shape. I stuck the tape on both sides of the hole. The carpenter tape's thickness is almost the same as most vintage paper cones.
2. The C.tape solution will not work in the "M' ring tear case.To fix this i used good quality 'TISSUE' paper. I cut the Tissue paper according to the size of the tear ( little bigger) and pasted it with FEVICOL on both sides of the cone. It is effective.
3. I fixed the TINY holes with FEVIBOND.
4. Colour the patch with marker pen ( if u wish).

These are few simple methods that i have tried with success.

5. If your SPIDER is weak/sagging, voice coil is hitting the magnet, one can apply SPIRIT( wood polish wala's) on the spider with brush. This will tighten the spider, any way i have still not tried this method so i can not recommend it.
