A good album!
This is the only album of Patricia Barber available in India. Have you heard any other album of her?

No I have not. This one came much recommended by a friend who actually gave me his CD and got one for himself. It did take a while to grow on me but now I love it.

blow by blow, wired, aja... your weekend is off to a great start, moserw! :)

it's a funny thing about dan, but i've been listening to their music for over 20 years now, and it still sounds fresh to my ears everytime.

Hey you hit the nail on the head. Aja is one exceptional album. It was one of the very first albums that got me off on music as a hobby and a passion. No matter how many times I hear it there is no sense of deja vu, exceptionally fresh they are.

...These were pirated cassettes coming to Kolkata from Bangkok through nepal. These cassettes used to cost around Rs.60-80 in early 80's.

Does anyone else remember similar cassettes from Indonesia from companies like 'Audio Mast' etc.? I remember them having excellent quality with top-notch graphics on the cover and overall good packaging, most of the times better than the ones from CBS, Magnasound etc., I was introduced to some of my most favorite music through these cassettes. Some of the titles I remember that I'm still trying to get are:

1.Guitar in Gold
2.Art Rock - The Best of Synthesizer

In the early 80s in Bangalore we would get pirated tapes with the "Billboard" label. They would cost in the range of Rs. 95-100 per tape and the quality was okay. Later on I moved to buying blank TDK tapes and copying from other tapes and/or CDs. These TDK tapes are still lying around and sound great even today.

This one is my all time favorites; well actually along with Duet, Uzhavan, Thiruda Thiruda, Pudhiya Mugam, Kizhakku Cheemayile...its a long list:)

There is hardly anything, I don't like from this list.

Cheers.
