The first album I would most highly recommend is In Absentia.

That will pretty much get you hooked. From there on, I'd get most of Steven Wilsons work.
I would HIGHLY recommend you also get "Blackfield" and Blackfield II". Those are his side projects and they really are a poetic dream.

Also, get "We Lost The Skyline". This is a 33 minute session recorded live in Orlando, Florida. Its just Steven Wilson and John Wesley...basically two singers / guitarists. I LOVE THIS ALBUM. Get it on Vinyl if you can. Still a few copies left at the Porcupine Tree store.

Finally, try and get this CD from wherever you can. If you like Porcupine Tree....YOU WILL LOVEEEEE Guilt Machine:

Hi Sameer,
Are any of the Wishbone Ash albums available in Hyderabad ?Cheers
Sanjay
i've been vacillating on this purchase as i already have most of their albums on cd. in your opinion, are the stereo versions of the mono albums a significant improvement? and are the new stereo mixes superior to the older cds?
thanks in advance.
thanks sameer! that's a good list to be on
btw, i think rhcp rocks! i just wish they'd release albums more frequently.
The new remasters are better than ANY Beatles ever put out before now. Including the original UK pressings, the MFSL's, Dr. Ebbets....nothing really compares to the new remasters. I felt like I was hearing them for the first time. Every voice inflection, every instrument is clearly and well represented. The Stereo is a lot of fun to listen to, but up until Abbey Road, all were originally in Mono.
If you're going to purchase one of the sets, get the stereo. But you HAVE to get these remasters. They are phenomenal! :yahoo:
many thanks for your input, shaizada!
i was at landmark last evening and casually asked the guy at the desk if they were expecting the beatles box. imagine my surprise when he said that they had already arrived in india and were currently at b'bay customs! on an impulse, i decided to place an order for the stereo set. going by your comments, i'm really glad i did![]()
You are most welcome. I'm just wondering, how much are they selling for in India? The stereo box set has the CDs made in Germany. The mono box set CDs are made in Japan.
