Right now I am listening to ...

Hello Ashok,
From where you are buying these albums? Will you check any reviews first or direct experiment ? Anyway seems to be u have a great taste of music.

regards,
Anand

well, guess i have gr8 friends. personally, and on hi fi vision. as a matter of fact i have done a lot of ferreting on all the threads over time and gems from the likes of SuhasGji, Kamalji, Moserw (absolutely no reason for missing out on the many more names in this list) and a lot more abound. when i see a general drift of music tastes are similar, following is more or less blind (power of suggestion/recco).

also, the multiple sessions that we keep having @virenji's place, or when they are over, opens up a lot of new music. virenji is a treasure trove of software, knowledge and experience, other than being a gentleman to boot. i'm certain sid trehan was not a sufi or classical fan and MAY (IMHO) not have heard Begum Abida or Kalpana Zokarkar if not for these.

thanx for your kind words. it is also a pleasure to share.

most of my buys are from the local saket planetm and shinestar outlet. i found a gr8 shop in g'gn also that stocked a lot that i was looking for. have done my bit of ordering from the net, in india and abroad. of course, few pickings from the trips abroad do add.

i rarely experiment, but when i hav, results hav been interestingly good.

what i normally do is go on to amazon.com and for most cds they let you listen to a sample of each song on it. that helps a lot

Hi
INVISIBLE TOUCH- Genesis. Phil Collins doing drums/vocals.

SERIOUS HITS LIVE -Phil Collins

TURN IT ON AGAIN- A greatest Hits of Genesis containing tracks from Duke, invisible touch,& then there were three,We cant dance, calling all stations.....

I heard this band/artist a hell of the lot in the 90s and continue to enjoy his music.

Am surprised no one has mentioned his music on the thread!
Rgds

Creed was a very promising band in the lines of Soundgarden & Pearl Jam, but met its demise after Scot Stapp left. I still listen to "Higher", "Arms Wide Open" & "My Sacrifice", my favorite Creed tracks. The other band members. mainly Mark Tremonti founded "Alter Bridge" with Miles Kennedy as the vocalist but his sound wasn't anywhere near Stapp's.

Friend of the Devil
Grateful Dead.....

All Tommorrow's Parties

The Velvet Underground

John Barley Corn Must Die

Traffic

For me, the best Indian Band on scene. A good mixture of rock, sufi and folk.
Would like to listen other Indian band which churns out this kind of music.

Grateful Dead!

I had a bit of Dead Fest over the weekend, courtesy of the Internet Archives and my Squeezebox, listening to stuff that from live concerts in 1969/70.

A beautiful, well-constructed speaker with class-leading soundstage, imaging and bass that is fast, deep, and precise.
