finally!
just got hold of this used 80 gb classic 6g for real cheap.. and rockboxed it!
just follow the instructions here: EmCORE Installation/iPod - freemyipod.org
everything works perfectly fine.. just one thing.. after you make a custom EQ setting and save the .cfg file, you need to reset the settings to original settings and reset device holding the MENU and SELECT buttons for a few seconds till the device restarts with the boot menu.. else you'll get a buzz signal after like 10-15 mins and the device freezes.. this is my own experience..
the MENU+SELECT button pressed for a few seconds works for any freeze situations..
to roll back to the original apple FW just plug it in to your comp keeping the MENU+SELECT buttons and itunes will restore the FW
