The twin Biblical plagues of Lawyers and MBAs are flowing out of our universities like some hell-spawned effluvium.

It's an interesting rant, although I wonder that he seems to think that "audiophiles" are content with red-book CD, whilst it seems to me that many denigrate it, preferring either vinyl grooves or amazingly-high sample-rate.

Many, perhaps most, of us have never even heard SACD on an SACD player --- but I've certainly heard both engineers and music lovers saying that DSD is the digital medium. I can't complain too much about not having heard most of the world's most expensive hifi equipment: simply, I'm not rich! But how sad that the allegedly-close-to-perfect recording method seems doomed to pass most of us by.

Amazon UK is a good source for SACD's. Although the collection is full of western classical ther are popular ones like Dire Straits Brothers in Arms and Pink Floyds Dark side of the moon.

Anyone knows where to source Japanese audiophile pressings of Japanese small ensemble jazz? Like Yamamoto Trio, Hideo Ichikawa Trio, etc. I forgot the name of the label but it has a small mouse.
There could be other labels too, esp XRCDs.

So , finally , there are no SACD;S for my music and I have to rely on my avregae cd's and music system:lol: Hmmmmm ok.

But now, the question is again back to square one.

Which amplifier to go for my Acoustic portrait Floor standers?

Iwas planning to go for Naim Unitiqute all in one player.

Now I have come to know about Odessey Khartago amplifier.

30w/channel 8ohm Naim VS 110w/channel 8ohm Odessey Khartago.

I have auditioned Naim Unitiqute. This small unit was efficiently driving 4 ohm floorstander- PSB Synchrony two Floor standers, efficiently.

But if I look at Odessey Khartago, It seems to be very powerful.

Still I have Naim in my mind because it is small, compact ,yet very powerful and mulipurpose and highly versatile unit. But my speaker's amplifier requirement is 40-200 watts.

But I do not know which one of these amplifiers will best suit my speakers and will be able to drive Acoustic Portrait with ease and powerful way?

What to do, can not decide.

I have bought Japanese CDs from CDJapan - Japanese Anime, Jpop, Japanese music, Game music, Japanese movie, CD, DVD - (like Blue Spec Cds etc - purely out of curiosity) however you will have to check if they carry the bands you are looking for.

I 'discovered' a label: Venus Records

Fans of smooth jazz who like exquisitely mastered sound (as only the Japanese can do in their anal retentive way) may like to try them out. I sampled some albums the other night at a fellow forumer's place. Music to die for. Well, almost. And it helped that said forumer's newly acquired digital front end was performing some real magic in the sonics department. I think it calls for an encore sometime soon.

Well, a 30W good power amp would certainly drive these speakers efficiently!
However higher power is always recommended. I would definitely vote for Odessey amp!
