As far as I have come to understand, Indiatimes Shopping is just a portal like eBay. While eBay offers buyer protection, Indiatimes shopping does not. Flipkart, on the other hand has warehouses and stocks the goods. My friend had a bad experience while purchasing a Blackberry:

- shipping was delayed (nearly a month)
- the box was not sealed
- product looked used
- xerox copy manual
- shabby packing

There are too many bad reviews on Indiatimes. They collect money upfront and delay shipping. There is no customer support.

At the same time, another acquaintance had a good experience.

So be your own judge.

Kix .. you are right.. till few months back they use to be a platform for other sellers.. like rediff, & ebay.. and right there were no buyer protection system like ebay.. but now they have shifted to orginal products with manufacturer warranty and I think has stopped selling grey market / refurbished product.. but yes their service is not upto the mark.. Last April, I had ordered a BB9360, which took almost one month to deliver, though everything else was fine.. it was a new product with Indian manufacturer warranty.. so normally one can avoid but not worst of the lot like Timtara, which I heard is pathetic. Heard that they don't even ship sometimes..

BTW, 61k for 51E550, is a great price

One person i know bought 51E550 from indiatimes and got a damaged panel !!! He got the refund though !!!

For plasma tv i would recommend to buy from local dealers as shipping of plasma tv from far off locations has inherent risks of damage !!!
