Satellite home dish for FTA

I would like to purchase a home dish(Brand neutral) for viewing FTA and foreign channels. Iam based in Chennai. Can u suggest where, which dish and how much will it cost here please?

Hi,

Before you go ahead and buy a dish, do you have any idea of the channels you wish to watch and whether they're available for free viewing?

Most of the channels are encrypted and one has to pay for viewing them.

Furthermore, does that satellite transponder's footprint cover your area?

LyngSat - Lyngemark Satellite would be a good resource to visit first.

You then have to know if the channels of your choice are available in C or Ku band and then purchase the dish, LNB and decoder accordingly.
