I was on a casual visit to Dubai Mall today and was doing my usual walk around the electronics area. And I noticed a huge 7 feet tall speaker majestically standing in the entrance of Hi-Fi City (the dealer from whom I bought my HT speaker package). The moment I got closer I realized that it is the top of the line Kef Muon speaker on display. God those speakers look absolutely majestic and imposing!

The first time I read about Muons I thought the guys at Kef must be crazy to build a speaker baffle using aluminum but I was completely wrong! The speakers look absolutely gorgeous when seen in person and very evocative of a beautiful female form! I am going to carry my camera this weekend and shoot pictures of the Muon! Simply because I may not get to see one in the near future as the Muons are limited edition and only 200 pairs are going to be made and sold across the world:licklips:

Oh and the same showroom has the Focal Grand Utopia (in red) on display as well as the 207/2 reference series from Kef! I briefly heard some Jazz music playing on the Kef 207/2 - even with crappy placement (both speakers placed within 1 meter) and connected to an Onkyo stereo receiver, the music sounded so live coming from the 207/2!!

For those with the money, the Kef Muons sell for 500,000 AED a pair and the Kef 207/2 sells for 70,000 AED a pair:)

freaks have read about the muons but never seen them. they must be amazing in real life. did you hear them play? apparently robbie williams has a pair

The Kef Muon was designed by Ross lovegrove. One of the best abstract designers around. No wonder it looks good.

As far as sound goes, you do not need to spend so much money to equal or better it :) There are alternatives unless you want a conversation piece with enormous bragging rights in your living room !

I had seen these monsters in the Harrods store in London. I got them to play a few songs but realised that the room was so crappy (it was a regular store layout )and these were laid out in the passage that they were very unimpressive.

But they look gorgeous as hell much better than these pictures depict.
